Meet the Artist
Hello, my name is Jo Baner and I live and do my artwork in the northwest corner of Washington State. I have been drawn to and involved in the visual arts and needle work since my childhood. My love of color and detail drew me to photography as a teenager which I continue to do to this day. I started quilting in 1983, but really became excited when I saw fabric used as a "palette" to create wonderful art both abstract and realistic. Then my exposure to "thread painting" lead me to machine quilting because of the great texture and dimension that can be achieved. This eventually lead me to purchasing a longarm quilting machine which I love to do all kinds of creative designs for myself and others. So I use my love of photography, thread, and fabric to create works of art on both paper and cloth. My life is never a dull moment. I hope my work inspires you and brings you much joy.
Please contact me to purchase any of my work that is for sale, or commission me to make something special for you, or to quilt your own quilt top.
