About me

Hello
My name is Jo Baner. I have been quilting since 1983. I started out as a self taught hand quilter making several quilts for family and friends. I raised two boys while working full time as a Respiratory Therapist and quilting in my spare time.

In 1996 I discovered machine quilting and found I could finish my quilts so much faster. After attending a 4-day longarm machine qulting class, I set my goal on becoming a longarm quilter. I also found that creating designs with just fabric and thread was so exciting and still do!

I joined and became an active member of the Moonlight Quilters Guild in Bellingham, WA. I served as quilt show chairperson for 4 years and even a year as President during that time. Being a member of the guild encouraged me to enter challenges and judged shows. My quilts have won several local awards in both the traditional and art quilt categories. After that my passion grew so I began teaching quilting classes in 2000 at local quilt shops. I am currently teaching at Fourth Corner Quilts in Bellingham.

Since my boys are now grown, I live in Belligham with my husband and two cats. In my spare time I also enjoy gardening, reading, remodeling my home, camping, and traveling when I"m not quilting.
